Choosing the right eating plan to get rid of that extra weight is probably one of the smartest things you can do for yourself at this point in time. You can be at any point on the social scale and it doesn’t matter in the scheme of things because carrying around excess fat is detrimental to your health and the most important thing that you need to develop now is a new way of thinking that if you have body fat, lose it.
If you find you have what you think is the will to lose that fat and get healthy, you are in good company because thousands of folks are in the same predicament. They see the body fat, want to lose it, but just can’t dredge up the will power to make it happen. The problem is, too many of the diets and fads are too restrictive in what and when you can eat, or have you counting every little calorie that goes in your mouth so after a while you just say, “forget it, I can’t keep this up” and there goes another diet out the window. You need something tailored to your lifestyle, the foods you like, the exercise you will do, and the mental outlook to keep is all running.
Okay, so here you are on the couch again imitating a potato with a bag of popcorn and soda or beer, and watching some slim toned chick extol the virtues of the latest come on for weight loss—a magic pill that grabs all your body fat to lose it fast and sweep it out of your life forever—-all you have to do is swallow, don’t change anything else about your existence, and the fat will just melt away. Yeah, right. None of these fads work, but people get so desperate at some points in their lives that they will believe anything and fork over the money hoping that this time things will be different. Don’t fall for it. There are lots of good things that happen to your body when you follow a balanced, nutritional weight loss plan with exercise; like reduced heart disease, fighting off diabetes, and lots more energy overall.
First things first if you are going to work on body fat and lose it. The main thing before anything else can happen for you, is that you must feel a positive feeling about what it is you are doing, believe in yourself, and develop the motivation to make it happen. Take a look at all those artery-clogging, greasy, fatty, dripping with sugar foods you have been existing on for most of your overweight life, and really look at them as adversaries. They are not a health benefit, but rather things that will eventually kill you if you don’t stop the way you are living and eating right now. Make up your mind that, yes, those things are yummy, and yes they make you feel satisfied momentarily; but they are maintaining a fat person that you don’t want to be; and it is time to get real with losing weight and leave them in the dust.
Start thinking about a plan where the nutrition you get every day is the core of the plan, and should be a well balanced array of foods that will provide all the nutrients you need every day, lots of fiber, lots of water, and plenty of sleep. And get that exercise worked in too; you must keep your engine running at top speed all the time to burn the body fat to lose that you have, and tone up those muscles so you are getting fitter with every passing day.
Now close your eyes and picture yourself and your mental state; just how much healthy living and lifestyle change can you put up with and stay the course. Emotions run our lives because we are human and we are built that way; so you must take stock of your emotional health as well as your physical, because the two go hand in hand and one must be considered as equally as the other. If you are not ready to make a big change in your way of thinking and your lifestyle so you can work on that body fat and lose it, then any diet plan will not work. You have to do the emotional work first and be ready for the pitfalls that your emotions can throw you into, that trigger your food cravings.
If you are ready for a new you and you have taken on the motto of “got body fat, lose it”; then it is time to choose an eating plan and lifestyle change that will trigger the emotions that are inside you and help you with your makeover. Remember to choose a plan that mirrors your lifestyle, your food likes and dislikes, and the exercise that will fit the plan and be one you enjoy doing so you will keep up with it. Don’t take on something you know doesn’t feel right in the beginning because it will fail; be true to yourself and what you feel inside, and work from there first so you can put together a workable way of living that will change not only your body, but also your life.
