Instead you could change the weight of the dumbbells in your hands by clicking a small dial.

Imagine if you can, you’re finishing your reps, need to make some changes, you put the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells in a base, do a quick turn, and have the exact quantity of weight you would like in your hand right now, no waiting. Good news is, that’s just what these Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells can do for your routine. It is essentially like having fifteen different weights which can go from five pounds up to 52.5 pounds on each side. They increase at 2.5-5 lb increments, to keep pace with your level. Another thing I love, you can adjust one side independent of the other.

When you put the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells down into the base, you notice that the dumbbell appears like a tiny barbell with different weights. At the end of the bar is a dial, which will be marked with the weights, from 5 to 52.5 lbs. It is incredible simple. To switch the weight, just turn the dial to the weight you require.
