Insulin controls or regulates the sugar movement from food into the cells of the body where it is consume for energy or stored as fat. Excessive production of insulin from eating high amounts of carbohydrates leads to a steady reduction in the sensitivity of the cells to insulin which leads to the body having to produce more and more insulin to achieve the same job .

During this phase, you would be able to understand the maximum level of carbohydrates needed to take off excess weight. Followers of the Atkins diet tips will use “Ketostix” strips (available from a chemist or health store) to investigate or detect when their body is in a state of Ketosis. When the body is in this state, weight loss is very rapid.
